OUR STORY
More than jewelry
A belief
We believe the most valuable things in life ca not be rushed. Valerosa was born from that conviction and from the extraordinary hands of Mompox.
OUR STORY
We believe the most valuable things in life ca not be rushed. Valerosa was born from that conviction and from the extraordinary hands of Mompox.
THE PURPOSE
In a culture obsessed with instant gratification, Valerosa is a quiet rebellion. We believe that the most meaningful things take time.
Valerosa was founded on a simple idea: that a piece of jewelry should carry a story worth telling. Not the story of a machine or a factory floor, but the story of a master artisan spending forty hours turning silver threads finer than hair into something you will wear for decades.
The Origin
Santa Cruz de Mompox is a UNESCO World Heritage town on the banks of the Magdalena River in Colombia. A place where magical realism is not a literary device it is the air you breathe. Where artisans have practiced their craft in the same way for five hundred years.
Filigree arrived in Mompox through the colonial era, and instead of being forgotten, it took root. Today, Mompox filigree is recognized as part of Colombia's intangible cultural heritage.
The Artisans
Hands that have spent a lifetime mastering something rare. Our filigree is handcrafted in Colombia by artisans who have preserved this art for generations.
THE PROCESS
When you order from Valerosa, you are not buying something from a shelf. You are commissioning something to be made by a specific person, in a specific town, with forty hours of care.
Your order is confirmed and assigned to a specific artisan in Mompox.
An artisan in Mompox begins. Thread by thread. 40 hours of pure intention. While we share the process with you.
From Mompox to Vancouver carrying its full story across continents.
A piece that exists nowhere else. Made for you, by hand, with ancestral magic.
Our Innovation
MorphEar is a system that gives every earring two lives. Because the woman who wears Valerosa does not live just one. A smaller piece for the everyday; a larger companion for the moments that deserve more.
The Team in Vancouver
Two Colombians in Vancouver. One shared dream.
We met during COVID, when the world felt uncertain, and chose to believe in our dreams and open a window to the world for filigree.
Valerosa was born in Vancouver, but its soul lives in Mompox, Colombia. We are a small team with deep roots in both places in the craft that Colombia protects and the multicultural world that Canada represents.
Dagmar is in charge of design and keeps the living thread between Vancouver and Mompox Dayana makes sure the world sees it through the visuals, the words, the photoshoots, and everything that makes the brand visible in the world.
Together, we are creating an inspiring story that expands into forever.
We believe that things made slowly carry more weight emotional, artistic, and human. We protect the pace of our artisans.
Filigree is not just a technique it is a living library of Colombia's history and spirit. When you wear it, you carry a conversation that started 500 years ago.
There is something that happens when you hold Valerosa filigree for the first time an aliveness that mass-produced objects simply do not have.
We are not seasonal. We make pieces meant to be worn for decades and passed on. If you are looking for something to wear once, we are probably not your brand.
